We’re entering a season that encourages us to take a step back, rest a bit, and enjoy the fruits of our hard work throughout the last year. While we appreciate the idea, balance can be very difficult in today’s world of business. Instead, we need to be thoughtful about creating times when we can focus on the work at hand or self-care. To try to “balance” your life is to actually create more stress that takes away from the enjoyment and peace you had in mind.
At SBC, we make a point of creating times of reflection and relaxation. We’re filled with gratitude for the amazing clients who we’ve had the honor to work with on so many fantastic projects this year. Through those collaborations, we’ve built up communities, raised much-needed funds, celebrated achievements, contributed to the small business ecosystems, and developed memorable events that have left attendees in awe. Some of those wonderful organizations have included the City of Boston, MassVOTE, the Boston Main Streets Foundation, Friends of the Children-Boston, and the list goes on.
Each of these nonprofits is making a lasting impact on the communities where they operate. Those who depend on their services or who have been impacted by their work exemplify their importance. While we have been honored to work with them, we also encourage you to show your support for the work they’re doing:
- MassVOTE is working to increase voter registration, education, and participation in historically underrepresented communities throughout Massachusetts. They also promote social, economic, environmental, and racial justice.
- Boston Main Streets Foundation is a network of 20 Main Streets organizations that use a comprehensive revitalization approach to create, build, and sustain healthy commercial districts.
- Friends of the Children-Boston is impacting generational change by empowering youth who are facing the greatest obstacles through relationships with professional mentors – 12+ years, no matter what.
We’re thankful for an amazing year for SBC, and we can’t wait to continue our work with fantastic organizations throughout Boston and the United States.
